Lot 231
1652 Massachusetts Pine Tree Shilling Noe-29 Rarity-3 PCGS Genuine, VF Details, Graffiti. A Small Planchet variety. Glossy light silvery gray fading to medium gray in the protected areas. Nicely struck on a solid planchet, although parts of the legend are off the small planchet, as always. The tree, date, and denomination are all bold. This piece is choice except for some faint graffiti under the XII denomination, and it takes a good glass to detect any of it. Listed on page 39 in the "Redbook." Weight listed as 67.28 grains on the PCGS label (PCGS # 24) .
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.

Lot 232
1652 Massachusetts Pine Tree Shilling Noe-29 Rarity-3 PCGS Genuine, Fine Details, Filed Rims. A Small Planchet variety. Frosty light silvery gray, the devices a few shades lighter than the protected areas. Nicely struck on a choice planchet. The obverse (tree side) is perfectly centered and the legends are complete. The reverse is slightly misaligned to K-9 leaving the tops of a few letters off the planchet. This piece looks choice, but a glass reveals extremely light smoothing on the edge of the planchet. There is no apparent reason for the smoothing, and it certainly does not affect the excellent eye appeal of this piece. Listed on page 39 in the "Redbook." (PCGS # 24) .
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.
